"The End of Software"
Marc Benioff, Founder, Chairman & CEO, Salesforce.com

WHEN: Wednesday, May 7th from 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
WHERE: Terman Auditorium, Stanford University

Marc R. Benioff founded salesforce.com in the spring of 1999 with the
intention to create information utilities that would make traditional
enterprise software obsolete. A veteran of 20 years in the software
industry, Benioff pioneered the concept of "The End Of Software,"
demonstrating how Web Services would replace large-scale corporate
applications through the use of the Internet. Just three years after
its founding, Salesforce.com has already surpassed $50 million in
revenue, expects to hit $100 million this year, and just turned a profit.

In 2002, he was chosen as a Global Leader of Tomorrow by the members
of the World Economic Forum, awarded a Computerworld Honors Laureate
for his visionary use of information technology to produce positive
social change and named 'Entrepreneur of the Year' by SunBridge,
the leading incubator of IT startups in Japan. In addition, Benioff
has been recognized by Network World magazine as one of its
elite 25 Most Powerful Vendor Executives, received the "Promise
of Peace" award from the former Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin
Netanyahu, and been given the "Bridge Award" from the non-profit
organization HEAVEN (Helping Educate, Activate, Volunteer, and
Empower via the Net).

Benioff spent 13 years with Oracle, holding a number of executive
positions in sales, marketing, and product development.

Stanford/MIT V-Lab present
Will Asia be the Next Broadband Access Battleground?

Ikanos Communications is a fabless semiconductor company that
develops and markets programmable broadband access chipsets
that are used in Ethernet in the first mile and very-high-bit-rate
DSL-discrete multi-tone equipment.

Ikanos offers solutions for both the carrier side and customer
premise equipment. Equipment vendors can use Ikanos'
chipsets to develop telecommunications equipment that delivers
scalable, high-throughput broadband speeds from 64 Kbps to
100 Mbps over existing copper wire.

Given the Asian growth trends we see for telecom companies
